ASCE and ASCE Members participate in several engineering federations around the world. The Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC), Pan American Union of Engineers (UPADI) and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO).
ACECC
ASCE is one of the three founding organizations of the Asian Civil Engineering Coordinating Council (ACECC), together with the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) and the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE). ACECC now has 13 organizational members with JSCE providing the permanent secretariat to the Council.
ACECC organizes the Civil Engineering Conference in the Asian Region (CECAR), which is held every three years in one of the 13 countries participating in ACECC. CECAR9 will take place in Goa, India on September 21–23, 2022.

ECCE
ASCE has an “observing” organization status with the European Council of Civil Engineers (ECCE). ECCE was created in 1985 out of the common concern of the professional bodies for Civil Engineers in Europe that the Civil Engineers working together across Europe could offer much more to assist Europe advance its built Environment and protect the natural environment.
UPADI
Pan American Union of Engineering Organizations (UPADI) is the organization that promotes the integration of the engineering associations of the Pan American region with the mission of actively contributing to the economic and social development of the peoples in the areas related to the exercise of the profession. It was created on July 20, 1949, with the association of engineers from 16 Pan-American countries.
ASCE and ASME have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to be the representatives to UPADI. The purpose of this joint activity is to further the interests of U.S. engineers and establish stronger ties within the western hemisphere. Currently, UPADI has 27 member countries in America where 31 engineering organizations and Spain and Portugal participate, as observer members. Its headquarters are in São Paulo, Brazil.
WFEO
The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) is an international, non-governmental organization representing the engineering profession worldwide. Founded in 1968 by a group of regional engineering organizations, under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO) in Paris, WFEO brings together national engineering organizations from some 100 nations and represents more than 30 million engineers from around the world.
- ASCE is an associate member of WFEO and hosts the WFEO-UN Relations Committee (WURC).
